OneSchool Global Palmerston North Campus is part of a global private primary/secondary school - OneSchool Global. The school has 9,500+ students globally across 20 different countries. There is 1500+ students at 17 campuses around New Zealand.
The Palmerston North campus was formally in Kelvin Grove, where is had been since the campus opened in the mid-2000's.
This interior of this modern state-of-the-art learning centre was designed by Unispace, and construction of the 2,200+ square meter building started in mid-2017. This main campus building was the first stage of the project, with the separate multi-purpose gymnasium building to follow later.
The building is split into several areas, with junior students at one end; an admin area, commercial kitchen, and amenities in the centre; senior students at the other end; and intermediate students on a large central mezzanine. Each of the teaching areas are comprised of large open spaces and various smaller studios.
The precast panels featured a raw board-form woodgrain texture, including exposed interior panels surrounding the central lift shaft.
Gymnasium:
This was the final stage of the new OneSchool Global Palmerston North campus, a 780+ square meter multi-purpose gymnasium building.
The main 420 square meter auditorium room is full height with a timber sports floor for indoor activities. It also has a stage and in-built audio-visual equipment.
The building also has a large commercial kitchen, woodwork room, toilets/changing rooms, mezzanine floor, and multiple storage rooms.
The exterior features board form texture precast panels, and multi coloured Kingspan metal cladding.
